Baskervilld Glass now by ROYAL appointment!!
Baskervild Glass was commissioned by the Welsh Black Cattle Society to make a Birthday Present for none other than the Prince of Wales!
Hayley travelled with the presentation party to the Princes Farm near Llandovery, where she was presented to HRH Prince Charles by Mr Andrew James.
Prince Charles informed Hayley that the piece would be staying at his Welsh home, where he has refurbished using as many welsh, organic products as possible. The Prince was pleased to learn that Baskervilld Glass is a CARBON NEUTRAL business, having planted a wood several years ago.
The piece was a shallow dish, with sandblasted engraving, made in the green white and black colours of the Society, who were so impressed with the piece they have commissioned another to travel with them to AUSTRALIA, to the World conference in November 2008. A very proud day for Baskervilld Glass!
Coming soon... Baskervilld Glass goes INTERNATIONAL!!
Warm Glass prize 2008
Baskervilld Glass has once again entered the warm glass prize 2008.
This year’s entry is a sculptural piece comprising of terracotta, fused glass and LED lights.
The theme was "influences" and I created this piece titled "under the influence". The terracotta face represents the basic earth, humanity of the human soul, while the glass overlay is representative of the clear, yet cracked and permanent effect the constraints of our society places on us all, the LED lights are the illumination of change"
